Electronics Engineer – Production Test Systems

Department: Manufacturing

Location: Eastbourne, United Kingdom

Join our team in Eastbourne where you will support the manufacturing of the company’s existing and new product range through generating effective engineering information, systems, and manufacturing processes. You also implement a successful LEAN manufacturing culture, focussing on continual improvement and elimination/reduction of all wastes by educating the business and removing non-value add waste from business processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain processes to support test systems for new and existing products
  • Provide a rapid response to fault reports from production, working to diagnose and fix problems with the ability to fault find to board level
  • Provide support to project teams for New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • To work as part of a project team to prepare in-house test benches to test our product range
  • Operate scheduled maintenance and calibration activities to minimise test equipment down-time and be prepared to work flexible hours to minimise system down-time
  • Translate design briefs from internal customers to effective solutions
  • Produce documentation to support new designs and processes as determined by company procedures and project requirements
  • Work within pre-determined project plan timescales and costs.


Skills & Experience
  • Schematic capture and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout skills (Proteus & Cadence)
  • HND in Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Some experience with Firmware, (C/C++, Assembly) and some Software (.NET/C#), Python and Linux
  • Knowledge of testing surface mount technology (SMT) boards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Electronics Design Engineer

Department: Development

Location: Brighton, United Kingdom

Join our team based in Brighton where you will be responsible for delivering electronic engineering support to the development of our products. You will be self-driven to deliver fast, accurate designs working effectively alone or within teams. The Electronics Design Engineer will also be able to apply technical expertise effectively, and present to project teams and junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate and analyse high level requirement to develop engineering solutions
  • Create detailed engineering work plans and requirements/specifications
  • Provide detailed electrical and electronic engineering designs to meet project requirements and timescales
  • Provide design maintenance support of critical issues such as obsolescence
  • Ensure that designs are properly verified according to engineering procedures and comply with relevant regulatory standards
  • Approval of designs and engineering changes for general release
  • Acquire and share knowledge of tools applicable to electronic engineering.


Skills & Experience
  • Experienced in design capture using relevant tools
  • Experience of R&D project lifecycle PCP/ECR/ECO
  • Proficient in the use of CAD tools for the creation of schematic diagrams and printed circuit boards
  • Good communicator, able to effectively interact with range of technical and non-technical colleagues
  • A degree in Electronic Engineering is essential.

Communications Coordinator

Department: Marketing

Location: Brighton, United Kingdom

Join our marketing team based in our Brighton office, where you will be building brand awareness for Paxton by communicating company, product and service key messages via press and media across the globe. The main focus is on communicating company news to both the media & to Paxton employees. The Co-ordinator’s role includes creating briefs, writing copy for targeted communications campaigns and liaising with key media contacts & internal stakeholders to drive news activity. The Co-ordinator offers practical support, valued communications advice and creative input, which are key elements in driving Paxton’s media and communications success forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Paxton’s global PR and communications program to meet Paxton’s business objectives
  • Source and draft news stories to gain coverage and reach our target audience via media channels
  • Ensure strong press engagement by maintaining and developing positive day-to-day relationships with key contacts including publishers, editors and advertising contacts
  • Identify new media contacts, clients, and sector opportunities, and keep abreast of news stories that might be relevant to or affect Paxton
  • Create reports and calculate ROI on PR and communications projects to acknowledge achievements and suggest improvements.
  • Create engaging content for Paxton’s global website. Maintain and update website content including pictures, copy, announcements and articles
  • Lead on communications activities and projects in line with the content calendar. Co-ordinate activities using tools such as Basecamp, our internal helpdesk system and 6 step project planner in PowerPoints
  • Be prepared to travel ad hoc out of normal working hours and stay overnight to help co-ordinate and attend communications events, such as trade shows, exhibitions, award ceremonies, seminars, etc.


Skills & Experience
  • BA Hons degree in communications/marketing/PR or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience of creating communications content for a global brand
  • Ability to be highly creative and imaginative
  • Demonstrable experience of running multiple projects from inception to delivery, managing & engaging stakeholders
  • An interest in commerce, popular culture and new technology for media & communications
  • A sound understanding of the role of Communications within a global organisation

Software Engineer

Department: Development

Location:Brighton, United Kingdon

Join our software team based in Brighton where you will support the Principal engineer in their responsibility for the technical integrity of the Paxton portfolio. You will ensure the progression of project activities on a day to day basis, with a mentality for Test Driven Design methodologies. Your main focus will be that of developing and maintaining a suite services, features and tools. The role will offer someone to work with the latest technologies and develop your career to becoming a full stack developer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop existing tools and workflow, recommends areas for improvement
  • Enhance the product suite through pushing technology boundaries and providing innovative solutions
  • Investigate software defects as assigned and provide timely resolutions
  • Interacts with a team of software developers based internal and external to Paxton
  • Guides unit, integration, performance, stress and supports unit acceptance testing
  • Interpret written business requirements and technical specification documents


Skills & Experience
  • Some proven experience working with C# AND SQL
  • Use of Test Driven Design methodologies
  • Experience in using Behaviour Driven Design techniques and working with Azure technologies is desirable
  • Developing software using WEB API, OWIN, JSON, Entity Framework, REST
  • Degree in computer science or relevant experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
